Here we list the features of common natural fibers.
Cotton fiber is featured in its sweat wicking function and warmth retention. The diameter of cotton fiber is tiny and its length is modest. Cotton fibers are soft and foldable. It can be made into medium yarn, roving or spun yarn. When it reacts with alkali appropriately, it produces mercerized cotton. It is also perfect for dyeing.
The defect is it it not easy to be smooth after being crumpled.
As a natural fiber, cotton is usually used for making baby clothes and underwears.
The main feature of wool is it is moisture wicking, breathable and thermal insulation. It is curly naturally and can be dyed easily.
Avoid bleacher when washing wool products as wool is sodium hypochlorite soluble.
Silk includes mulberry silk and tussah silk. Mulberry silk is beige and glossy while tussah silk is a little khaki. Mulberry silk is widely used for making silk bedding and dressing gown.
