Focus on New Materials to Accelerate Fiber Fabrication and Create New Eco System

Materials are the base of manufacturing industry especially the base for textile, chemical, craft, equipment and product innovation. Fibers are widely used in every aspect of life and production.

In 2020, the overall capacity of textile fiber processing in China occupies more than 50% and chemical fiber more than 70% in the world.

Innovation of fiber materials was improved a lot because of advantages of large scale and sound system of industry. But what is still needed to be improved is the key generic technology, standard and intellectual property.

Ministry of Industry and Information Technology of the People’s Republic of China approved the Innovation Center of National Advanced Functional Fiber as the Innovation Center of National Manufacturing. This aims to implement research of key generic and advanced technology in high-end fiber materials and textiles along with functional new fiber materials. The ministry pointed out that the innovation center should be led by key enterprises and research institutions to carry out advanced and strategic big projects in next step.

The president of China National Textile and Apparel Council said the council would strengthen industrial planning and promote technology innovation to make fiber materials more functional, lighter, and softer with higher performance.
