What fabric is more fire resistant?

The fire rating of chemical fibers

The limited oxgen index of polytetrafluoroethylene(PTFE) fiber is up to 95%.

The index of carbon fiber is 36% to 40%.

To polysulfonamide, the index is around 33%.

The limited oxgen index of aramid fiber is 26% to 30%.


The fire rating of natural fibers

The best fire resistant fiber is alginate fiber. Its LOI(limited oxgen index) is around 48%.

The second is wool with LOI up to 26%.

The third is silk which is about 24% in LOI.

Other fibers or fabrics can be finished with fire retardants to be fire resistant. Specification can be customized in our factory.
